Broadway Calls become Lowlife's!!!!

We met the boys at Give It A Name where they received a rapturous reception opening up the first day. Signed to Billie Joe from Greenday's label, Adeline, they are very much on the rise, so we were stoked to throw some belts their way. Our good friend, and great photographer, Katie Anderson got these shots whilst the boys were on their UK tour with All Time Low and Cobra Starship. And i'm sure you'll agree that the Lowlife Punched Belt looks awesome!!!

Lowlife hits the Brits!!!
Our belts went down an absolute storm with the celebs. We had to chase Louis Walsh off the stand, but a long list of celebs grab themselves some belts including Beth Ditto, Zane Lowe, Dermont O'Leary, The Hoosiers, Natasha Bedingfield and Lemar! Beth was especially stoked declaring that she loved Lowlife-something evident by these pics!!!

Lowlife SS08 Lauch Party with Fightstar DESTROYS!!!
So this was a big one- a huge night of planning and expectation soon dived into an evening of musical chaos and debauchery at Madame JoJo's! And an overflowing guestlist and ridiculous amount of free Red Stripe and Jagermeister only increased the chaos! Lowlife wouldn't have it any other way!Competition winners Dissolved In set the pace with their riffy take on the screamo genre. The boys held their own on an evening on musical radness! And the crowd lapped it up! Congrats to the boys for winning, and proving that they deserved to be there!
Next up were rising stars We Are The Ocean. Pretty sure you will be hearing more from these boys in the future- they tore through a set that sounded like the English bastard son of an Alexisonfire and Glassjaw love session. Pure genius, keep your eyes peeled!
Sharply dressed and smooth as you like, The Computers own Madame JoJo's from the minute they hit the stage. Riffing like RFTC or The Bronx, these greasy Lowlifers are naturals and it's plainly obvious that they are going to be huge soon. Absolute stars!
Speaking of stars- the last time Fightstar played in London, it was in front of 5,000 people. Tonight, they step out in front of 250. That really does justify how special this evening is for the lucky few that got a ticket. The band plough through a truly special set that pulls from both albums and EP's. They look throughly stoked to be so close to the audience as sweat and fans drip from the walls! Sheer genius.
Now we can't really lie here- after this it all gets a bit hazy as Lowlife proceeds to get steadily more drunk as we create the biggest mash up by rolling our after party into the Gallows after party for the show they have just played up the road. The Audition provide tunage for the drunken masses as the evening spirals into sheer debauchery! Talk of Star Wars On Ice and a stinking headache the next day is all that we can remember now. Just the way it should be!

Damian Fucked Up loves Lowlife...
So when the awesome Fucked Up rolled into town with Gallows, we were there to hang with the awesome Damian and he was more than happy to let the awesome James Ellis grab a few shots of him showing his love for Lowlife belts. Freshly offstage, he we got this awesome shot of him, still covered in sweat and drying blood. Awesome stuff!!!The band were a huge success on the tour and are definitely on the up with the ever cool Vice on board, they are one noisy bunch of Canadians to be keeping an eye on...

And the winner is...
It's been the hardest decision to make. Everyone at Lowlife HQ and the Fightstar guys have spent the last 24 hours checking out all the bands. All 20 are amazing, and we are stoked to have had so many amazing bands (to put it in perspective, we were only meant to pick 10 for the poll, but could on get it down to 20!)After much repeated listening we would like to congratulate and offer Dissolved In the opening slot at Madame JoJo's on Monday. Congratulations to them and best of luck to everyone else. Hopefully we will see more of you all in the future.

Lowlife SS08 Launch- Fightstar mega gig!!!
For this special, one off show, Lowlife are teaming up with Fightstar and Oxjam to celebrate the release of our new SS08 range and Fightstar's new single Floods (out March 3rd). This intimate performance for a lucky few will take place at Madame JoJo's in the heart of London's Soho on March 3rd 2008. This special event is also commemorating the launch of Lowlife’s amazing new SS08 clothing range, and all proceeds will go to OxjamJoining Fightstar on the night will be rising UK sensations We Are The Ocean and another unnamed act. In addition will be the lucky winners of the competition being run by Kerrang and Lowlife for an unsigned band to win the opening slot on the night- please check Kerrang for details or send your bands myspace to info@lowlifeonline.com.
We will also be having an unmissable aftershow party during which we'll be teaming up with Gallows, Fightstar and The Audition who are all coming down to party with us and spin some tunes. There will be a world of give aways also.
Tickets will go on sale on February 15th (all proceeds go to Oxjam) and there will be a very, very limited number of gig + aftershow party tickets available.
This event is going to be the place to be on March 3rd, so get oyur ticket and be there!!

Mark Webb on the mend!
Mark Webb is showing massive improvement since crushing his vertebrae at the end of last year. He's up for another scan next week which should give him some important news on his recovery.
